Mrs C in Penang

She came mid December....

It was so good to pick her up in the new CRV. Ms L wanted me to drive her car, her brand new 1 week old car and I have never driven a CRV ever in my life and I didn't know the car had no handbrakes :-) It was so funny coz Ms L did not know that too!!

The airport was in a mess, but we found her. It was nice to see her looking good after the long flight. She was just happy to see us and that is what matters most to us, good friends, good laughs and of course good chats.

A month off with my friends, this is how I like to end my year, with happy smiles and laughter in the air.....

Wedding Dinner

Nc's wedding dinner....

We were all in blue and it was just wonderful. The girls came for the dinner too and they too were in blue sarees and the looked lovely.

As usual, we had fun. All that till the drive back to P's house. Nc and her husband were in the car with me and Sara and Nc's husband started saying something about me and my behavior/attitude. He was telling me that I should go towards God and I get a bit offended, I just told him my relationship with God is very personal and I like the way I am now. Then he was condemning the way I spoke in Tamil and English. He simply irritated me!

Sara was trying his best to change the topic but this guy was just too adamant to criticize me, when I reached P's house, I got hold of my bag and I just told him that I am aware that he was mocking the way I speak but this is how everyone speaks at my house. I was really hurt.

I was driving back home when I called DW to complain about this. He calmed me down and of course he made some stupid remarks as well....

I don't understand why some people think they are superior beings, what makes them think they are better off compared to others. We are all human and that's it!!!

Nc's wedding

4am wedding in Batu Caves....

It was Nc's wedding the weekend I came back from China. Oh god, my knees hurt so much but I still drove to Batu Caves on Saturday morning. Finished work on Friday, went home, changed into a saree and packed my bags. I picked S up and we were off to Lunas. When we were there, they were doing the nalenge and I have no idea how I was dragged into doing it....

That night, we slept late, we sent everyone back home, cleaned up the house and we just sat there talking and we went to bed late and in the morning, P's mom woke us up early and all of us were sitting at the hall waiting to be given coffee and slowly dozing off. We got dressed as ppl were coming in at 7.30am and the second nalenge was to be done in the morning as the mappilai's house will be arriving at 10am to take Nc.

It was fun, we laughed, we were all excited. After sending Nc off, we started off our journey, I drove my car, P and her parents and aunty came with me. Aunty and P were talking the whole time we were in the car. We stopped once and had a good lunch.

I did a big big blunder, I was at Batu Caves temple when I saw the Murugan statue and I said here's Hanuman, oh God, everyone laughed so much until we had tears in our eyes I think, at least I did :-) From there, we were heading towards the house when Aunty saw another temple and she called Amma as Vinayagar. It was hilarious, I donno what was wrong with us that day but it was fun!

Nc's house was really nice, we could see the nite lights of the city from her apartment. Nc went off for her bridal at 1am and P's dad woke us all up by 3am. Yeap, we woke up, got ready and waited for Nc who was late from the bridal. By the time we reached the temple in the morning, the mappilai's part of the ceremony was underway.

We had a good time, the wedding was beautiful, everyone was awake by that time.... of course we had a photographer who started bullying P and I. As usual we ended up as the photographer's assistant which was a pleasure of course :-)

After the wedding, we went to the mappilai's house and yes, of course we had to have fun there. There was a boy who seriously irritated all of us and at all times we tried to say something bad about him. From there, we went back to Nc's house and we just slept off. Everyone was tired.

I was to meet DW there for lunch, he said he will come to pick me up for lunch and he did. Sara and K dropped me off at the temple and DW was there and we went for lunch. As usual we spoke, laughed and as usual I did something stupid. He dropped me off to the apartment before 6.30pm as the dinner was at 7 something. I had enough time to shower n change and was all set to go.

The dinner was okay, sister & mama came and we had a good time. PG came with his wife and he sat with us. Basically there was no one to check out but of course there were a couple of gossips that we were entertaining :-)

The next day, after an early lunch we went back. This time, P's parents and aunty came along with me and it was a pleasant trip as well.

I enjoyed myself and I am so glad I made the trip to KL..... wedding & DW :-)

Beijing

Oh...I loved Beijing...

I was in China for 2 weeks and I loved every moment I was there. The flight was not that pleasant, the seats were so cramped that I just stood the whole time we flying, I did not sleep the nite and well it was not that bad.

We reached Beijing in the morning and it was cold and misty and it was beautiful. Our hotel rooms were spacious and clean and it was near a morning market. Our tour was rather nice, a tour guide who spoke fluent Malay and English and the places of visit was rather nice too.

We went to Chinese Muslim mosques, old buildings, kung-fu show, of course a few supermarkets, tianemen square, the palace and of course the great wall of china. It was at the great wall of china that I had a lovely time, I took a few snaps of myself there, touched the great wall and I knew I had done my China trip :-)

Of course I trip the local food, went out one nite to eat Peking duck and to drink their local beer and there was a morning I went to the stalls to eat breakfast of good noodles soup and hot pau. It was lovely....

It was a pleasant trip, I enjoyed myself, kept to myself all the time, was listening to Usure Poguthey the whole time I was there and was very contended with myself. I called Kutty once to tell him China was nice and I msged DW to say I like being here.

I would love another trip to China....to see my terra cotta warriors and that would be my complete China experience....

Silence....

Been really a long long time since I wrote here.....

Wow, lots of things had happened since I last logged into here. I will start writing about things I can remember bit by bit. I shall start with my car ride to KL with DW.

DW told me that he will pick me up after lunch and as always, I was ready by 2pm, all packed and ready to go to China. In the morning, I had to go to Georgetown to pick some ppl up from Miri, the boy was totally adorable, his name was Arthur, really a cute boy and I know he liked me too, he was just 8 yrs old!

Anyway, after lunch, I dropped the boy and his family to Queensbay, the boy insisted that he wanted to sit with me in the front seat of the car. I had a pleasant time with the family. I came back home and got myself ready and I waited for DW. And I waited and finally he arrived at 7.30pm. It was raining and he had another person in the car.

When I was in the car, he told me that he will have to drop me at Seberang Jaya as he wants to go back to his house and of course he could not take me along to his house and of course I was not prepared to meet his family. In the end I told him to drop me at P's house and when he was to start his journey, he can pick me back again.

We finally started our journey to KL at 9pm from Kulim. It was him, an uncle and his sister and I in the car. The uncle of course commented on my Tamil as I was answering his questions and DW volunteered that I am always talking. His sister was not so talkative, but I was my usual self and I had a fairly good time in the car. I knew DW was eavesdropping as he kept looking back at us. The uncle was to get down in Ipoh and when we stopped the car to drop him off, all of us came out and the uncle asked me to sit with DW as I can talk to him till we reach KL. It was past midnite and it was raining that nite.

I asked his sister if she wanted to sit infront but she declined. We had a good conversation, I was telling him that I don't know if I can be a good mother coz I don't even know what I am doing in my life is right or wrong and how can I bring up a child telling my child what is right and not.

Something about DW, he loves eating kuaci and he is so good with it. He had a pack of kuaci opened up nicely and placed near the gear box and he did not even drop a single kuaci all the way to KL. It was me who was more agitated with the kuaci's presence as I was afraid the whole pack was going to drop!

We sent his sister first to her apartment and then he dropped me. It was about 4am when we dropped her off. The drive from his sister's place to my sister's place was about 30 minutes and the whole 30 minutes he was very very very quiet. I didn't know what to say or how to behave and hence I just kept quiet too. When he stopped in front of sister's house, he did not come out from the car, I needed his help to remove my bag and he came down to help me. I asked him if he wanted to come in but he declined.

Sister was out and I introduced them, after he left, she told me not to tell mama as he would not understand. To that I asked her, what is there not to understand? I just took a ride with a friend from Penang to KL and that was all. I was upset.

My thoughts, I was happy with my trip, I did not understand the silence at the end of the journey, perhaps he was too sleepy, I don't know and I will never know what was in his mind....
